Where To Look For Powerful Lessons? In the dip!

From "the dip, a little book that teaches you when to quit ( and when to stick)" Seth Godin:

"what´s the dip?

It´s the fifth job interview where they never even call you back.

It´s the garage band playing to an empty club in the middle of nowhere.

It´s the seventh time you fall on your butt while learning to snowboard.

It´s the middle of the marathon, when the excitement of the starting gun is a dim memory, and the joy of the finish line is a distant dream.

It´s any rough patch you have to get through before achieving your big goal...if in fact you´re chasing the right goal.

What else?

Oh yeah, it´s also the key to your career, your company´s future, and maybe your ultimate happiness."

Let´s sum it up from the perspective of the supercool principal:

It´s where all the powerful lessons wait in your life! Every time you want to quit there is something important you can learn. Successful people have figured this out - they´re dip-masters: and that´s why they´re successful.

You have to open your eyes to see these lessons. And you have to open your heart to learn them.

I wonder what our kids learn @ school about "the dip"? Hmmm....

About the Seth Godin Event:

Seth was mind blowing! He is really a master of giving things a name and getting his point across in a unique and very efficient way.

Crazy but the transportation to the event  was the most expensive part of the whole day for me. $50 for the event ( where we got 5 copies of his new book "the dip" what equals the ticket price!) and $60 for the caltrain and taxi.

And yes Liz, I said hello to deepika and she was very happy to hear from you! :)

Oh Steli!
What a wonderful summary you brought back from this event! You've explained the dip clearly and thoughtfully in so few words. Seth would be proud of you. :)

Thank you for saying "hello" to my beautiful friend. I hope the event was well attended and that you and she enjoyed the chance to meet. :)

Hey Liz,

thankx. It was my pleasure to talk to deepika. She did a fantastic job organizing the event and I´m so thankful that she brought Seth to Silicon Valley!!!

Seth was great in Phoenix too!
