Happy Day To You!

20th June 2007.
Meditating while a handmade Japanese perfumed flower candle is the only source of light in my room. A moment of silence...thinking about the lessons of the past year...thinking about all the blessings of my life....fully aware of the moment...silence in my mind...and then....a thought breaks the silence: "You have to share this special moment with your readers!" Hahaha....damn it! One year older & still a blogger ;) A happy day ( birth or not birth) to all of us. Let´s kick some ass!

"Playing" the Internet

I talked with someone lately that seemed to be very confident about her competence in the field of blogging. She told me about how blogging works ( she never asked me if I have a blog ) and about her consulting work in the blogging field.

But of course...she IS no blogger! Nope - she doesn´t blog ;)

So here is my analogy:

With Music: Just because you can listen to it - doens´t mean you think you can play the guitar.

With the Internet: As soon as you know how to use something - you think you can do it yourself.

My PodTech Interview : Learning by Embarrassment

podtech.net has published a video interview with Robert Scoble and
me ( recorded 6 weeks ago). Interview length = 26 minutes. Time I needed to watch it = 65 minutes. I don´t know how many times I pushed that pause button but boy it was alot of pausing!!!

It´s interesting how much we learn about ourselves when we see some video material. It was my second day in the US and I´m not happy with how I communicated the vision behind Supercool School but I´m already looking forward to compare the next video interview with it and to see the progress.

I used to do alot of video coaching and training back in the days and today I remembered why :)

You can acquire true wisdom by watching yourself on video - confucius would have loved it!

I even thought about not publishing it on my blog. That´s when I knew that the only right thing to do was to publish it! We are such ego driven creatures - and overcoming ego means true learning.

So without further ado...I bring to you...

***And by the way: you can read my first peopleized interview here. Now, I´m officially podteched & peopleized ;)

UPDATE: My bro Jim from BlackInBusiness posted an interview on his blog we made about the status of education for black students in America. Check it out since he asked some very interesting questions. Seems like today is the supercool interview day ;)

SECOND UPDATE: Wow - have a look at this clever guy - he asked me some questions @ peopleized and I just answered them because I wanted to support my buddies Halil & Euripidis. His questions seemed to be pointless at first. Now go and read what he had in mind when he interviewed me - damn clever & devilish sharp!

Democratize Interviews Online: Peopleized.com

Joomla_logo_black

Bloggers will love this new website! Get "peopleized" and enjoy a new way to promote yourself and your blog via interviews.

The practice of interviewing interesting and relevant bloggers isn´t new. It´s a great way to generate new content, promote your blog/website, make new friends and build lasting relationships for you and your blog.

But to have one powerful community where you can find cool bloggers to interview for your blog and at the same time be discovered by other bloggers as a potential interview partner kicks ass!

Halil & Euripidis ( creators of peopleized.com) are two of my best friends and I do know them for over 15 years now. They are incredible personalities eager to make a positive impact online.

Go and visit www.Peopleized.com and interact with them. Tell them what you think and become a part of this special community!

I´ll be there and you can request an interview easily via my profile on peopleized. I´ll sure request an interview with you ;)

Much power to the people!

You Wake Up As The Man You Went To Sleep.

One of the most powerful lessons I refuse to learn is this: If you want to change anything - you have to start the change before you go to sleep. Only start - even if it is a tiny step. Anything will do it. But you gotta do it before you go to sleep.

Take it from a hypocrite: Don´t persuade yourself at the end of a day without action that you´ll do it tomorrow. If you are really ready to stop the procrastination you will start now. Before you go to sleep. Your chances are pretty good to wake up as a new man/women and continue your work then.

It´s 2:50 am and  I refused to start till now - but I refuse to go to sleep before starting too...let´s see if I get some sleep soon  ;)

I´ll keep you up-to-date about my learning progress in the comment section. Sweet dreams...

Value Your Time - The Path To Productivity

Mig tagged me. It´s a productivity meme...now what the hell do I know about productivity? In one word - nothing.

It´s a topic that keeps me busy every day. How to get more things done in less time?

Extraordinary personalities who manage to get more things done in less time seem to handle their time in a different way then the rest of us.

They know the value of their time. They know what they can create ( money, value, results, whatever) in a certain time-frame and they act according to that. The interesting thing here is that their acting creates the value and the value influences their acting. But don´t worry...it´s all virtual anyway ;) Both time + value are only concepts in our minds. But powerful ones that have a real impact and can shape our reality.

Blablabla...and what does all this mean for you? Answer these questions & follow the process:

  1. What´s the best you can create in an hour? NOT do - create! Money, written pages, songs, blog posts, websites, etc etc...(must be quantifiable) EXAMPLE: $100 / hour
  2. You have to decide how many hours/day you want to be truly productive. If you think...hmm...well I want to be productive ALL the time you don´t know what you´re talking about. Trust me...you´ll find out in a minute ;) EXAMPLE: 5 hours/ day
  3. Now take the time and the value you can create and make the math. EXAMPLE: $100 x 5 = $500 / day
  4. Now you know how much your time is worth. So what? Try this: imagine you would have to pay this amount of money everyday to the "productivity bank". Over the day you would have the chance to earn your money back. It´s up to you. If you waste your time doing things that don´t CREATE anything of value your ass will end up broke.

Life has given you the power to create and the time to execute. If you waste those recourses - you´re wasting your life. If you use them - you create something of universal value: MEANING

Productive people know that. They act like that. And we love them for that :)

Everyone who read to this point is tagged. Have fun!
